Application PAN Sequence Number

What it is

Application PAN Sequence Number distinguishes cards that share the same PAN (for example a primary and additional card, or a reissue). It is a single BCD byte and feeds the key-derivation of the card master key together with the PAN.

Where it appears

Read from the card record files; included in cryptogram key derivation and the authorisation message.
