Issuer Authentication Data

What it is

Issuer Authentication Data is returned by the issuer in the online response for the card to verify (issuer authentication). It typically contains the ARPC and an ARPC response code; the card checks it before the second GENERATE ACApplication CryptogramA cryptogram the card generates to approve or decline a transaction: TC (approve offline), ARQC (go online), or AAC (decline). and sets the issuer-authentication TVRTerminal Verification ResultsEMV tag 95 — a 5-byte bitfield recording the outcome of the terminal’s risk and verification checks.View in glossary →/TSITransaction Status InformationEMV tag 9B — a bitfield showing which functions the terminal actually performed during the transaction.View in glossary → bits accordingly.
