Application Effective Date

What it is

Application Effective Date is the first date the application may be used, encoded as YYMMDD in BCD. If the transaction date precedes it, the application is "not yet effective" and the terminal sets the matching TVRTerminal Verification ResultsEMV tag 95 — a 5-byte bitfield recording the outcome of the terminal’s risk and verification checks.View in glossary → bit.
