What it is

Application Expiration Date is the last date the application is valid, encoded as YYMMDD in BCD. The terminal compares it against the transaction date (tag 9A); an expired application sets the corresponding TVRTerminal Verification ResultsEMV tag 95 — a 5-byte bitfield recording the outcome of the terminal’s risk and verification checks.View in glossary → bit and may drive the transaction online or to decline.
