What it is

Response Message Template Format 2 is the TLV-encoded container the card uses to answer GET PROCESSING OPTIONS or GENERATE ACApplication CryptogramA cryptogram the card generates to approve or decline a transaction: TC (approve offline), ARQC (go online), or AAC (decline).. Because every element carries its own tag, the terminal can parse it generically. Format 2 (77) is the modern alternative to the tag-less Format 1 (80).
