What does POS entry mode 02 mean?
Magnetic stripe read, full track not available. The card number came from the magnetic stripe, but the complete, unaltered track 1 or track 2 data was not read or is not in the message.

What it means for the transaction
- The issuer cannot verify CVV1/CVC1 because the full track is missing.
- Use 90 when the full, unaltered track data is sent; 02 tells the issuer the track was truncated or rebuilt.
How 02 appears in DE 22
In ISO 8583 field 22 the first two digits are the PAN entry mode and the third is the terminal's PIN entry capability. EMV tag 9F39 carries only the two-digit entry mode.
