Pax Dollar
Overview
USDP (formerly PAX) is one of the oldest NYDFS-regulated stablecoins. It has a smaller float than USDC or USDT but a long compliance track record, which is why it appears in Mastercard’s regulated settlement set.
Integration gotcha: USDP uses 18 on-chain decimals, unlike the 6 used by USDC, PYUSD, and USDG. Amount-conversion code that assumes 6 decimals will be off by a factor of 10¹².
Card-network settlement support
Part of Mastercard’s June 2026 settlement set. Note the unusual 18 decimals — most settlement stablecoins use 6.
Regulation & reserves
US dollar deposits and US Treasuries held bankruptcy-remote at Paxos Trust; monthly attestations.

Always verify contract addresses against the issuer’s official documentation before use — lookalike tokens with identical symbols are a common scam vector.
